Genesis 22 relates the occasion when God
asked Abraham to give him his only son, Isaac.
The account tells that Abraham immediately
took the son, the wood and the cleaver and went up the hill to offer it as a
sacrifice to the Lord.
Then, as he was almost giving the child to
God, the Lord said to him, "Do not lay your hand on the boy and do not do
anything to him, for now I know that you fear God." Genesis 22:12
This same proof God will do to all of us, for
He will ask us to give what we love most.
When a man surrenders to God what he loves
most, he proves to God that he can receive all the blessings, for none of them
will turn him away from the Blessing.
Therefore, we must give to God what we love
the most, for it will enable us to have God first in our hearts, which will
make us able to receive all the blessings!
"Trust in the Lord and do good; so you
will dwell on earth and enjoy safety.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will
attend to the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him,
and he will act:
Psalm 37: 3-5
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
and lean not unto thine own understanding. Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and depart from evil; this will be health to your body and
refreshment to your bones. " Proverbs 3: 5
