Have you ever seen a sparrow sleeping on a
branch or a wire without falling? How does he do it?
If we tried to sleep like that, we would fall
and break our necks.
The secret is in the tendons of the bird's
legs. They are constructed so that when the knee is bent, the little foot
securely holds anything. The feet will not let go of the branch until it
unfolds the knee to fly. The bent knee is what gives the bird the strength to
hold anything.
What an incredible drawing the Creator made to
hold the bird. But, it is not so different in us. When our "branch"
in life becomes precarious, when everything is threatened to fall, the greater
security, the greater stability comes from our knees bent in prayer.
If you sometimes find yourself in a tangle of
problems that make you lose your faith, you discourage walking; do not walk
alone.
Jesus wants to strengthen you and walk with you
throughout your life. It is He who renews his strength and faith. And if you
take care of a little bird, imagine what it will not do for you, your beloved
son. Bend your knees and pray.
Psalm 50:15: "Call upon me in the day of
trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."
