"And the sea arose because a great
wind blew. And having sailed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they see
Jesus walking on the sea and approaching the boat; and they were afraid. But he
said unto them, It is I, fear not. " John 6: 18-20
How many times our life that seemed to
go well, "out of nothing", he starts walking confusingly? The college
seems an unattainable dream, the new harder job placement than we thought, our
marriage seems to be hanging by a thread, hope for children is not enough, the
words of victory that God has bestowed on his life, seem more distant etc. Some
may claim that "life" is like that, a cycle of victories and defeats,
but have you asked God what he wants with it?
I always think in Job, integrate man and
God-fearing, yet went through a lot.
Christ's disciples in that boat being
thrown from one side to the other, maybe they were afraid, but they heard the
Lord - fear not.
So it should be in our lives, we must
listen to "fear not, I am with you," let Christ into your life, in
your boat and control the direction it will take, he will never send you to the
stones, never send you to death, for His promise is life and life in abundance.
