"Thus
says the Lord:".. Cursed is the man who trusts in man, who makes flesh his
strength, whose heart departs from the Lord He will be like a bush in the
desert, will not see prosperity when it comes dwell in arid parts of the
wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives. "But blessed is the man
whose trust is in the Lord, whose confidence is in him." Jeremiah 17: 5-7
In these verses,
we have two kinds of people: those who trust in men and those who trust in God.
Judah made the
mistake of relying on false gods and alliances with powerful wicked nations,
not God; thus it became barren, unfruitful. In contrast, those who trust in the
Lord flourish like trees planted together in a river. Remember Psalm first?
In times of
difficulty, those who trust in men impoverish and be spiritually weak, but
those who trust in God will be able not only to meet their needs, but also
those of others.
We are pleased
to be fruitless or are like a well-watered trees, which is able to face our
times of crises and still help others, bearing fruit for God? Let's
