PRACTICING OUR TRUST IN GOD

"In peace I lie down and I fall asleep, for, Lord, you alone make me rest secure."
Psalms 4: 8
Insomnia is an evil that strikes many people. At certain times, it seems to arise with all force.
This verse from Psalm 4 assures us that when we lie down, we soon fall asleep. But why do so many Christians also suffer from this disorder? Because they're letting something steal their peace.
The enemy will do anything to disturb our lives by throwing thoughts that lead to anxiety and worry. He will try to make us not feel safe and relaxed enough to rest. If he can interfere in what renews our strengths, it will be more difficult to enjoy tranquility and encourage ourselves to praise God and pray, for example.
We must daily practice our trust in God. Is it difficult to detach from the acceleration of this world? Yes. Is it difficult not to focus on what is not resolved in our lives and causes concern? Yes. Is it difficult to ignore the difficulties that have arisen throughout our day? Yes. But we can lie down and fall asleep quickly and have this moment of renewal, for the Bible tells us that we can rest in the arms of love of our God.
Do not surrender to the pressure that the enemy makes during the day nor allow it to disturb you at the time of your rest at night. Do not accept being held hostage by any situation that robs you of your peace. Jesus is our peace! God is our tranquility.
Learn to trust in Him and reject any harrowing thoughts that interfere with your well-being. At all times, God wants to take care of us! He has control of everything! Let Him do it for you and rest in the name of Jesus!
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust and to rest my heart at all times, whether during my day or in my sleep at night. I declare that I will not surrender to external pressures, for I believe in your care for me; I believe in your power and your sovereignty. I deliver every distressing situation of my life on your altar and I will rest in your love. In the name of Jesus, amen!
