"But the door that leads to life is
narrow and the way is narrow, and few find it." - Matthew 7:14
Following God means walking the "narrow
path." It means facing adversity. Here are a few things I've learned that
will help me keep going:
The Word of God is the limit for my life. As
long as I remain within scriptural guidelines, I will have wisdom and understanding
to know what I need to do and have what I need in Christ to do it. God is true
and faithful to His Word.
I have to be willing to finish what I start.
God uses committed people who are not driven by emotion. It's easy to get
excited at the beginning when something is new, but those who cross the finish
line are those that hold when no one else is excited.
When there is no one else to help me, I can
know Jesus better. The narrow way of living for God and not conforming to the
forms of the world is often solitary. But gaining true intimacy with Christ is
worth more than anything you could get out of the world.
I believe these truths can help you how you
helped me. Always remember that although there is opposition, the rewards of
walking the narrow path are worth absolutely.
Begin to pray: Holy Spirit, my desire is to
walk the narrow path - the way of life in Christ. Keep me within your limits
and show me how to live so that I can persevere to the end.
