"Come, behold the works of the Lord;
what desolations he has done on earth!
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the
earth; he breaks the bow and cuts the spear; burn the cars in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be
exalted among the Gentiles; I will be exalted above the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of
Jacob is our refuge "
Psalm 46: 8-11
One of the most spectacular ordinances God
gives men is: "Be still." (Psalm 46:10)
When we act in the flesh, we prevent God from
being strong in our lives. This does not mean that we should be passive or
lazy. It means that we must do whatever God leads us to do, without passing in
front of Him in the strength of our flesh.
We need to be careful to submit our ideas and
plans to God, slow down and wait on God. Make sure that together with your
plans and your ideas, you feel peace. Ask the Lord to do His will in your life,
so be still and know that He is God.
Learn to trust in the Lord without knowing
what He will do, when you will do it, and how He will do it. Just let Him do
it. If you turn your heart to God in trust and love, He will do what needs to
be done. God grants His best to those who trust in Him.
Be still and let Him be strong in your life.
