Acts 2: 14-21
"And whosoever shall call on the name of
the Lord shall be saved! "Acts 2:21.
There is nothing more to be done than crying
out to the Lord- "Jesus, save me for the sake of Your Name." What an
easy, concrete and objective thing! To call on the Name of the Lord is to be
sure of salvation!
No matter how much you want, you can never
save yourself. All your efforts are impotent, vain. You'll never know if you
hit the target. You will never know if you have worked enough, if you have
given enough alms, if you have been sympathetic enough, if you suffered enough,
etc., etc. Salvation by works, besides being a diabolical scam, gives no
consolation to anyone, nor any certainty to anyone.
In most cases it is arrogance. The insecure
is the most boastful. He that did good works boasted of good works. The one who
suffered boasted suffering by showing the scars. Those who think of being saved
by emotion show their tears. But what is all this worth? You're welcome.
Let us not dare to present before God
anything we have done, or given, or suffered, because, from what we have given,
we did it with what was not ours. We are just
usufructuaries. What do we suffer, what is it compared to what Jesus suffered
for the world?
Paul taught: "By grace you have been
saved through faith. This is not of you, it is the gift of God" (Ephesians
2: 8-10). And again: "We conclude therefore that a man is justified by
faith, apart from works" (Romans 3:28).
Do you feel hungry for God? Do you want to be
sure of salvation?
Do you want to live safe in Christ?
"Call on the Name of the Lord Jesus and
you will be saved." Acts 2:21 "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ with
your soul and heart, and you will be saved" Acts 16:31
Have an excellent day
