"But I trusted
in thee, Lord, and said, Thou art my God.
My times are in your
hands; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and those who persecute me.
" Psalm 31: 14,15
Trust requires that
you put your agenda in the hands of God, believing that His time is perfect for
all things in your life. Your human nature wants good things to happen
immediately, not later. But you learn to believe and expect things to happen in
God's perfect time as you mature in the Christian life.
Trusting in God often
means not knowing how He will accomplish something and when He will. But not
knowing "how and when" strengthens your faith and teaches you lessons
of confidence. Remember: trust is not inherited, it is learned. Time plays an
important role in learning to trust God.
As you experience the
Lord's faithfulness, time after time, you will give up trusting yourself and
put your life in God's skilled hands. This is a wonderful place to be!
