"But the Lord did not hear the
words of Balaam; and instead changed that pretended curse in blessing upon you,
for the Lord loves you. "- Deuteronomy 23: 5
Balaam was invited by Balak, king of the
Moabites, to render a special service for which he would be very well paid:
Allah to the people of God.
Balaam went to a place where he could see the
people but instead of cursing he gave a blessing. There was a second attempt to
curse, but a blessing was again pronounced. They were, in all, three blessings
upon the people of God. The reason for these blessings is at the end of today's
verse: "For the Lord loveth you."
Our God is expert in turning potential curses
into blessings. The Word of God is rich in episodes where the Lord's people
were about to be defeated, but thanks to the Lord's powerful and loving
intervention there was blessing instead of cursing.
My friend. Maybe something is in front of
you, pretending to be a curse. Give this situation to the Lord. Trust Him. He
loves you. Believe that He can turn this situation into a blessing.
May God bless you richly in this new day.
Prayer: God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I
praise you for your great liberating power. I praise you for your unconditional
love that protects me from the curses of those who hate me. Lord, cover me this
day with your protection and your blessings. Do not hide your face from me.
That's what I'm asking you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
