"The wicked shows in his face his
arrogance, but the righteous keeps his course in order" (Proverbs 21:29).
In 1 Peter 5: 6 it is written, "Therefore
humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may lift you up in due
time." We have to have the same attitude that had Jesus Christ who humbled
himself, becoming a servant, becoming like a man. He emptied himself. How can
we be arrogant if we look at Jesus, see his love and his compassion for us? The
God who became flesh to save us calls us to a life of humility. The humble
person becomes dependent upon God because he recognizes His
"smallness" and the size of the Father's infinite greatness.
Being dependent on God, in all things, man
keeps his path in order, for to live a life with spiritual disciplines that
strengthens him to walk the path of integrity. He has an intimate relationship,
of communion, through the Holy Spirit, with God. Now, fast, read the Bible, and
live in fellowship with the brethren. This man [or woman] understands that he
must live a life in holiness to please the heart of the Father. What have you
spent your time with? Invest your time in the Lord!
