"Peace I leave
with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you:
let not your heart be troubled, neither be dismayed." John 14:27
We may be facing a
great struggle, but we know that true peace is very close to us. Not a merely
external and transient peace, or the artificial peace of antidepressants,
vacations or absence of problems. But the peace that springs from the heart of
the one who died on the cross. The fountain of the river of blood shed
eternally for us to have life. It is the peace of Jesus that overcomes the
worst circumstances. The true peace comes from trust in the one God, creator
and sustainer of life. God Himself delivers us from the storms of this life,
and graciously offers us His Peace.
Prayer: Dear Father,
the Lord is the reason for my existence. Even though the struggles are great,
they are no greater than my sovereign God. I declare that my trust is in the
Lord, and I know that all these tribulations will draw me ever closer to you.
Where God dwelleth there is peace, and the Lord dwelleth in my heart. Therefore
I can rest and take possession of this peace which Christ has conquered for me.
I pray and thank in the name of Jesus. Amen.
"Now the Lord of
peace himself always give you peace in every way. The Lord be with you all.
" 2 Thessalonians 3:16
