THE GREAT GIFT

"He shall extend his dominion, and there shall be endless peace upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, established and upheld with righteousness and uprightness, from henceforth and for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. "(Isaiah 9: 7)
When we look at our world, we realize that part of the promise established in Isaiah (Isaiah 9: 6-7)
has not yet been completed. The child was born to us, the son was given to us, but he has not yet taken the government on his shoulders. We do not yet have peace with judgment and justice. But the good news is that the day is coming when Christ will return. He will establish His kingdom on this earth. It will be a just government made by God Himself.
Before Jesus took the government on his shoulders, He had to take up the cross. Before He used the crown of glory as the King of Kings, He had to use the shameful crown of thorns and give His life as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
The first time He came to earth, a star marked His arrival. But the next time He comes, the whole heavens will indicate, the stars will fall from the sky and He Himself will illuminate Him with His glory.Christ came to this earth. God came close to you so that you could get close to Him. To give purpose and meaning to your life.

To forgive your sins and give you the hope of eternal life. Christmas does not mean embellishments, shopping and much less should be synonymous with gifts under a decked tree. Christmas is the gift He gave us when Christ died for our sins, granting us the gift of eternal life. That yes, it's the real Christmas.
