"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be
afraid, because the Lord God is my strength and my song; he has become my
salvation. " Isaiah 12: 2
Can we say that the strength we have in our lives comes from the Lord? our steps, the courage that motivates us to move forward and the song that is on our lips comes from our faith?
Or are we a little agnostic and do not believe that God created us, but left us here, delivered up to our own fate?
Many may say: what moves my life and gives me strength to live is the Lord. However, we need to recognize that this force is not in our public attitudes, but in the love with which we devote ourselves to know the Lord. As the psalmist exhorts us, we can not say that we belong to the Lord and sit and listen to the counsel of those who do not walk with Him. He who knows the Lord does not seek elsewhere for the food that will sustain his life. It is in the Word of God the knowledge and wisdom that can hold us steady in our walk. The strength, courage and peace that sets a song on our lips comes from trust in a God who makes us live our faith with integrity.
The apostle Paul suffered whips; stonings; the ships on which he sailed traveled three times; spent a day floating in the sea; was attacked by thieves and his own countrymen for the Gospel to be preached. No person who has gone through this can continue on his mission if he does not have the strength and the courage to face the challenges of the task entrusted to him. The Lord empowers his chosen ones by the knowledge of his will. If our walk is making us tired, we need to renew our faith seeking the direction of God, for He will give us strength to continue.
