"So do not worry
about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for each day
is its own evil. " (Matthew 6:34)
What will become of my
future? What will I do? How will I be? Will I have a family, a house of my own,
a car? Will I complete a college course? Will I get a job in the area? What if
I start now and up front do not work out? These are just a few examples of
questions that many of us are asking. It is natural and even necessary - at a
certain level - to be concerned about our future because we need to plan it.
But it is also necessary to understand that we do not have control of
everything in our life.
Some things we plan
today may not work tomorrow, after all, "the plans of the heart belong to
man, but the response of the tongue comes from the Lord" (Proverbs 16: 1).
As much as we strike our feet on the ground wanting our dreams to come true,
that our will be done, it will not always be so - thank God! Some things will
not go as we would like, they will not work. Even as Christians, we are daily
subjected to bad situations, but we should not grieve in advance, bringing into
the present an unnecessary oppression. Let us live the present, let us not
worry excessively and negatively with the future, after all, "each day its
own evil suffers." Matthew 6:34
