"Why are you down, O my soul? Why are you
disturbing me? Wait on God, for I will yet praise Him, my help and my God
"Psalm 42:11
At some point in life, the psalmist begins to
talk to himself. He is disturbed, depressed, saddened, being attacked. Then he
realizes he has his emotions down. Your emotions are down, causing you to stay
in a state that only makes things worse. At this point, he decides to analyze
the sides. On the one hand, the attacks that sadden him. On the other side, he
has GOD, who is for him, whom he can trust. It is at this moment that the
conversation with yourself is so important.
He says to his emotions: "Why are you
down, my soul? Why are you sad? Stop now! Trust in god. Trust, for surely I
will see His action that saves me, and I will still praise Him for the victory
in the face of this situation. My soul, stop grieving and trust in GOD! "
So I learn that in many moments I have to force myself to trust in God. I have
to command and compel my emotions to follow my faith and trust in GOD. After
all, GOD is Faithful, and I know HE is for me. The end is not according to my
emotions, but according to the fidelity of GOD!
