"Jesus
said to him: I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live "; John 11:25
Enveloped by the
desperate plight of Martha and Mary, in his brother's death function of
Lazarus, Jesus would explain the miracle that was to operate. He told her that
whoever is in Christ outshines all the power of death. So Jesus said to Martha,
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may
die, he shall live - and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do
you believe that "John 11: 25,26).
If that is
definitely accept Christ as our Lord, all the power of death loses its effects
on us. Whether in our body, is in our soul. So, when we become aware disciples
of Jesus Christ, we are transferred from death to life. It is a true
resurrection. For Christ freed from sinful power of death and energizes us with
the eternal power of His life in us.
The theme of
life in Christ is the essence of preaching the Gospel. Therefore, Jesus said,
"I came that they may have life. And that have quality and intensity
"(John 10:10). Men glorify our Father who is in heaven, exactly when they see
our work as disciples of Christ, differentiated from dead works of sin in the
world (Matthew 5:16). We are called to proclaim life in a world dead by sin. What
assures us is the resurrection power of Christ.
