"Looking
unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat on the throne of the right hand
of God" (Hebrews 12: 2)
Says the popular
adage, "what the eyes do not see, the heart does not feel." According
to the Bible, out of the heart are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Thus, we
will live better as mirarmos look in the Lord and trust our heart to His care.
An example of
the correct attitude in the face of adversity, can be found in Genesis 39.
Joseph, the most beloved son of Jacob, it was sold as a slave to an officer of
Pharaoh. In Potiphar's house, he was tempted to sin with the wife of his lord,
but did not for fear of God. Some people do
not need to be invited to sin, to commit it. But Joseph chose to look to the
Lord. He himself said: "How, then, can I do this great wickedness and sin
against God" (Genesis 39: 9)? At the critical moment, the son of Jacob
preferred to look to the Word of God!
The fact that he
chose to obey, cost him two years in prison. Joseph preferred to live in a
fetid prison to stop looking for the Lord (Hebrews 10:38). With only one meal a
day and no bathroom per week without toothpaste or clean clothes, the young man
did not give up to trust God. However, the cell was within the script
prescribed by God to take the throne. Of slave to master, it was not long.
Prisoner to the governor of Egypt, was just one step. The fact that Joseph know
who and where God could do it get made all the difference.
Jesus is our
greatest example. He knew the route to it was proposed, did not stop before the
difficulties. The Christ of God endured the cross and despised the shame. In
other words, he looked beyond the suffering and opposition: He looked beyond
the problem and could contemplate the solution. That was enough to make him sit
on the throne of God (Hebrews 12: 2.
Many do not
think twice before he sinned; Joseph resisted until the last moment. Others
would see nothing but three walls and a grid; he saw a stage. The masses prefer
to see only the wall; he found an open door. This same port is at your
disposal. Go through it and you will have the surprise of God you waiting on
the other side. God has prepared special things to be seen by those who want a
lifetime looking for Him (1 Corinthians 2: 9). Choose to obey God is the wisest
course possible. The difference between our current state and the miracle of
God can depend on where we are directing our expectations and to whom we are
trusting our hearts. Here's how to look to the future with hope.
