"(...) Seek peace and commit themselves to achieve it [not just
want to have a peaceful relationship with God, with men and with himself, but
rather seek, pursue this!]" - (1 Peter 3:11)
When Jesus said, "I leave you peace (...)" (John 14:27), He
was talking about a special kind of peace, not a worldly peace. This special
peace that Jesus was talking about is one that operates at all times and in all
situations.
The believer who is experiencing the peace of God through your
relationship with Jesus can have peace even in the midst of the storms of life.
First 1 Peter 3:11 says that we should seek peace, pursue it and strive
to achieve it. The word seek means "(...) chase, struggle (...) want to
investigate, request or demand." It means require something like a vital
need, yearning or pursue something.
This verse mentions three areas in which we must seek peace: (1) God,
(2) with men, and (3) with ourselves.
Learn to love peace and want it sincerely. Seek peace, because without
it you can not enjoy life and the blessings of God. The Lord said that if you
seek with all your heart, you would find (Jeremiah 29:13). I believe that if
you diligently seek peace with all your heart, you will find what you are
looking for.
TALK LIKE THIS: "I have the peace that passeth all understanding. I have peace that operates in the storm. "
