"Let
us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and
find grace to help in time being". Hebrews 4:16
Just as we
should not concern ourselves with "nothing", we must make known
"at all" our petitions to the Lord with thanksgiving. "In
everything" means that there are things, however great, why we should not
talk to the Lord.
We should
not run some things by our own forces, leaving other because of the LORD. Our
Heavenly Father has the power to solve all our problems.
We must plead
"with thanksgiving." We must thank the Lord for benefits already
received and thank the present by the certainty of future benefits.
"And
this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his
will, he hears us.
And
if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him "1 John 5: 14,15
