"Take my
yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:29).
Jesus, our
Master and Lord, urges us to become meek and lowly of heart. Perhaps this is
the great problem of mankind today. Most are not concerned with eternal things,
what matters is today, now that is attached to a pragmatism without ethics and
no morals. We have seen and heard of atrocities that happened exactly the lack
of emotional control, lack of God in people's hearts.
Our personal
interests can not operate to the disadvantage of our spirituality. We need not
fight in defense of these interests, but we should rather wait for the
providence of the Lord. His Word tells us that He will supply all our needs in
Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. So, to be meek is necessary to believe in the
Lord Jesus Christ, understand that it is sinful and seek the guidance of the
Spirit for a life full of peace.
