"...
and because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold: but he that
shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." (Matthew 24: 12,13)
I
have always been bothered by this statement of Jesus Christ: "The love of
many will grow cold"!
In
the first place, because for this to happen, it is necessary that there be love
and that it be a true love;
Secondly,
because it portrays and means a great loss.
But
the beginning of the verse makes clear the trigger for the "cooling"
of love: Iniquity!
The
following verse gives the remedy so that we do not lose it: Perseverance!
Psalm
103: 3 says that the Lord forgives all iniquities.
To
keep our hearts warmed, therefore, we must know that in Jesus Christ all our
iniquities have already been forgiven. This certainty will persevere to the
end.
"For
the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, for it is great." Psalms
25:11
"Father,
my heart is Yours, I believe that all my iniquities have been forgiven, when I
have believed and confessed Jesus Christ as my Savior, and that is enough for
me to endure to the end, with my heart warmed by Your love. "
